Adjustments & Manipulation

Adjustments, or manipulation as they are sometimes referred to, are the minor movement of vertebrae in the spine. The objective of the adjustment is to realign the joint to release the pressure on a nerve. The joint, most commonly a vertebrae, can be misplaced for a number of reasons but usually is from bad thoughts, traumas, or toxins that the body is trying to eliminate.

When the joint is out of alignment, known as subluxated, there is pressure on the nerve causing a nerve interference. Without proper nerve flow throughout the body, your systems cannot work at their optimal level.

Adjustments are a pressure using either the hands or an instrument to reduce the pressure on nerve. This is known as clearing a subluxation. This is usually a quick movement with little to no discomfort but there may be some noise when the joint realigns. This noise is known as cavitation or referred to as a popping sound. The sound is the release of gases from the joint but this does not need to be heard for the joint to move back into position.

Regular adjustments are an excellent way to maintain proper function of the body. When you have proper alignment your body is able to function at the highest level.
